The Geek In Me (Part 3)

ahhh the final post.. its taken ages to find the last component for the computer.. the video card.. no one had it in stock.. all had to order the brand i was looking for.. so i went looking for other brands instead, again no one hand them except 2 places... 1 had the leadtek the other the msi brand (only 1 left for each)... i can't believe out of the whole of sydney, through about 30 shops i called or visited after work only 2 places had them. so through careful thought and ringing 4 different ppl, the unanimous vote was for the leadtek the more expensive one. I ended up buying it that day.

below are some shots of the video card and the finale comp how it looks now on my desk.. :-)

the video card and a shot when its placed in its slot.. chunky heatsink (thats the big orange thing for those that don't know)

the comp just before the install of the O/S

the finale :-)

special thanks (free plugs) goes to:

Nate, Rosi, Mike and Gaston: for their advice/2nd opinions on the various brands and computer parts

Esther K: for the use of her apartment in the city where i stored the case on the first night as it was too hard to carry on the train home.

James Sun: this guy is awesome, i've bought my last 2 computers from him and the majority of the parts from him this time. if you want a part he'll get it for you at a really good price, contact me if u want his contact.

I-Tech: coz they know Nate and provided me with the case

Xcom Technology Centre: for their friendly service and having the video card in stock.

My sore legs: for giving me the ability to walk all over the city 3 days in a row... and to run from market city to broadway in under 7mins to get to i-tech before 5:30pm for the case.

and lets not forget my usual sponsors, Kraft Cheddar Cheese, Franklins No Frills and Woolworths Homebrand :-D
